Preschool education covers 45 percent of children in Bishkek

05/11-2009 13:49, Bishkek – News Agency “24.kg”, By Bolotbek KOLBAEV

Preschool education covers only 45 percent of children in Bishkek, Elmira Imanalieva, vice mayor of the capital said at the press conference Thursday.

City authorities reportedly try to enlarge number of children, attending kindergartens. “At least 77 pre-school institutions function in Bishkek at the time while we need about 120,” Imanalieva said.

“The capital’s renewal program includes construction of eight and reconstruction of two pre-school institutions, but it is not enough. City administration will try to find additional means for increase in number of kindergartens,” the vice mayor said.
