Tazalyk to raise waste disposal tariffs 1.5 times in 2010

Municipal enterprise Tazalyk plans to raise waste disposal tariffs 1.5 times in Bishkek by the end of 2010, final report of the Bishkek city administration said.

The company intends to spend the funds on improvement of its material and technical base.

Number of street sweepers was reportedly increased, about 19 garbage trucks were purchased in 2009. At least 1,300 trash containers and one thousand cans were placed in the city. Moreover, the enterprise has signed a contract with Minsk automobile plant on purchase of 25 refuse collection and street-cleaning vehicles at $1.5 million.
