What of Bishkek sights would you like to take photo with?

It may also happen that somebody leaves Bishkek for ever and has only several hours to take photos as remembrance. We turned to residents of the capital with the question: What of Bishkek sights would you like to take a photo with?

Sergei Bardakov, Managing Director of the Russian Drama Theatre of Chingiz Aitmatov:

I would like to have picture with the flag staff, take photo of our magnificent flag as well as Kurmanjan Datka monument. It is our heritage. But most of all I am fond of nature, especially our mountains. That is why I would go to Ala-Archa Natural Park or any gorge and take some pictures there.

Evgeny Akopyan, President of KVN Kyrgyzstan (Club of the Funny and Inventive) Public Association:

There are a lot of wonderful places in our city but I associate the capital with Ala-Too Square. So, I would take some photos there. I would also take a photo with the Sports Palace of Kojomkul. I think much of this palace because the best KVN games have taken place in the building.

Spartak Danilenko, 23, a specialist of the organization department of the Kyrgyz Football Federation:

Surely, I would take photos on the Erkindik parkway. Every part of the boulevard is beautiful, particularly nearby Kurmanjan Datka monument.

Vladimir Bogolepov, 78, Secretary-General of the Kyrgyz Wrestling Federation:

Mikhail Frunze monument in front of the railway station is the most significant for me. It is a symbol of our capital. I would also have my pictures taken in front of Marx and Engels monument. I arrived in the city when I was 26 and was especially impressed by Lenin monument. I would also take some photos with Ala-Too cinema, on Moladaya Gvardiya parkway and General Panfilov monument.

Anton Litvinov, 25, an employee of a mining company:

I think one of the most beautiful places in the capital is a square in front of the National Philharmonic Hall. I would choose Manas monument as a background for my photo and then I would take picture among flower beds. That is all.

Nurjan Kanhodjaev, retired employee of the Justice Ministry, member of action groups opposing illegal constructions in Bishkek:

I would take a picture with eternal flame in Oak Park. I used to stand guard there in my childhood. I even have a black and white photo. Also I would like to have my picture taken in front of pilot Tuleberdiev monument on Molodaya Gvardiya parkway.

Gulbara Tolomushova, Assistant Chairwoman of the Kyrgyz Filmmakers’ Union, film expert:

A few people notice it but if you walk along Logvinenko Street towards the Film Theater, you will see a wonderful landscape. There are mountains far ahead, road recedes into the distance and three crowns form a cupola. The landscape is especially wonderful in autumn. I would like to have my picture against the background.
