Kyrgyz Temir Zholu: Passenger trips from Almaty canceled due to emergency

Passenger trips from Almaty were canceled in connection with emergency situation. It was reported by the Kyrgyz Temir Zholu National Company State Enterprise.
According to them, in connection with a disaster in the Almaty oblast of the Republic of Kazakhstan that resulted in washout of railway bed, the Kazakhstan railways decided to cancel their passenger trains in several directions and send Kyrgyz railway train No 385/386 on bypass route.
Reportedly, according to new schedule which will be in effect until completion of restoration works, starting from March 18, 2010 the train No 385/386 Bishkek – Novokuznetsk – Novosibirsk will depart from Bishkek approximately one hour later and steer on the changed route. Time and date of arrival in Novosibirsk and Novokuznetsk remain unchanged.
The Kyrgyz railway passenger transportation management insistently requests the passengers, who purchased tickets for train No 385/386 and the train from Almaty, to approach to inquiry or booking offices of the Kyrgyz railway to check up the time of departure/arrival and route.
