Japanese government –main source of trust funds financing in Kyrgyzstan

Japanese government is the main source of financing of the World Bank’s trust funds, investing in Kyrgyzstan, press service of the republican ministers’ cabinet reported.

The WB trust funds reportedly render technical assistance to various Kyrgyz departments. Analogous multilateral funds are financed by the United Kingdom Department for International Development. They are administered by the World Bank and implemented by the Kyrgyz government. The total sum of the active projects in Kyrgyzstan makes up $114 million. At least $50 million of the finances are allotted for co-financing of such projects as Rural Investment, Agribusiness and Marketing, Water Resources Management.
