World Bank approves $34M loan to Kyrgyzstan

World Bank has approved a number of loans to Kyrgyzstan with total at $34 million, ITAR-TASS reported with a reference to the central office of the bank in Washington.

The bank has reportedly passed a project on modernization of the Osh-Batken-Isfana road to cost $25 million. Besides, the financial institution allots additional $8 million for support of different investment projects aimed at development of Kyrgyzstan’s rural area. One more million is granted by the Global Environment Facility for maintenance of Tien Shan preserved areas.

The WB grants loans on extremely preferential terms - on interest-free basis for 40-years and 10-years grace periods.
