Toktogul water decreased by 200M m3 last week

Kyrgyzstan’s Electric Stations Company says the volume of water in the Toktogul reservoir has decreased by 200 million cubic meters for the last week.

Today water volume makes up 10,678 billion cubic meters (on February 1, 2010 – 10,861 billion cubic meters). As to press-service of the company, the total reserves amounts 7, 366 billion as of February 8, 2009, 2008 – 8,613 billion, 2007 – 12,801 billion cubic meters.

The water inflow reportedly at the reservoir amounts to 159 m3 per second as of February 8, 2010 (on February 1, 2010 - 166 m3 per second), which is the highest index for the last two years. For comparison, on February 8, 2009 the water inflow was 134 m3 per second, in 2008 – 84 m3 per second and 177 per second in 2007.

The water discharge comes to 458 m3 per second (on February 2010 – 441 m3 per second), that is higher than indices of the past year – 418 m3 per second. For comparison on 8 February, 2008 it was 863 m3, in 2007 – 634 m3)
