Ministry of Economic Regulation of Kyrgyzstan offers to set moratorium on presenting united tax declaration

The Ministry of Economic Regulation of Kyrgyzstan offers to set moratorium on presenting of united tax declaration, the Ministry informed 24.kg news agency on Tuesday.

As the officials explain, the moratorium should be declared “for prevention of declaration of incomes and property, obtained by means of corruption activities, as well as for prevention of forcible seizure and property redistribution”.

The Ministry specialists have already worked out a draft decree of the Interim Government of KR “On suspension of the Law “On preparation for presenting of united tax declaration by citizens of Kyrgyzstan” dated 25 February 2010.

Note of 24.kg news agency: the law gives physical persons and state officials an opportunity to fulfill unstated tax liabilities, customs payments, deductions on social insurance and other compulsory payments with regard to incomes and property, obtained before 31 December 2009, without payment of the above mentioned taxes, deductions and other compulsory payments, except for the amount of incomes and cost of property, together exceeding the established declaration threshold.

However, according to the experts, “under the conditions of the current socio-political situation in the country, many facts of privatization of private property and forcible seizure are being identified”, in this connection the worked-out draft decree provides for suspension of the above law until establishment of stable socio-political and socio-economic situation in the country.
