Davidov’s Glacier can’t move anyway but Kumtor mine – Eldar Gilfanov

“Davidov’s Glacer can’t move anyway but Kumtor mine,” announced Eldar Gilfarov, an assistant chief of Industrial Security Department at Geology and Mineral Resources State Agency, on today’s meeting of interdepartmental commission

According him, the glacier is moving with speed on 50mm per hour. “There is question on urgent discharge mass pressure which is moving strait to the mine. Now this part of the glacier is full of holes and flaws,” said Eldar Gilfarov.

He explained, that the mining company is building to roads to discharge spot. “In order to preserve the mine, the glacier must be shortened constantly,” said the expert.
