“Garment industry is not developed in the southern Kyrgyzstan,” the director of the filial agency of Legprom (light industry) Association in Osh, Aidar Amatov, said at the panel discussion on development of textile and garment manufacture.
According him, they don’t pay due attention to southern provinces. “In the result, low-skilled needlewomen are working there who combine several occupations. There are no equipment and premises as well. Because of absence of designers cutters use one gauge for two sizes. This affects quality of work,” Aidar Amatov explained.
He noted that workers of the garment industry can sell their works only on local markets. “No one of entrepreneurs may attain export. One should take into account interests of all province of the republic when developing light industry,” Aidar Amatov said.
