Meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council started in Grodno (Belarus). Previously, there was a meeting in a narrow format, which was attended by the Prime Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
As it was noted, at least 12 issues will be discussed at the meeting. "Moreover, the Kyrgyz side suggested one more issue," it was stated before the meeting.
Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov congratulated Kyrgyzstan with full membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and noted the activity of integration processes.
The Prime Minister stressed that at this stage EEC countries are "approaching sensitive issues, requiring compromise in national and supranational interests." "The practice puts everything in places, revealing inconsistencies and unresolved issues. The emphasis on the agenda is put on intermediate summing up, based on which we will build an algorithm for the next actions. We have to address further liberalization of services market and the actual problem of the protection of intellectual property," Andrei Kobyakov said.
He reminded that in a month the heads of EEC governments will have to report to the Presidents. "Let's look at the causes that hinder the process of bilateral work and will try to outline specific recommendations. I suggest paying special attention to a course of formation of industrial policy, in particular, drafting of the main areas of industrial cooperation within the Union. Effective interaction of key economic and financial institutions, national banks is also a topical question now. The work is not organized as fast as it can, or we do not have constructive ideas," Prime Minister of Belarus said.
He admitted that as of today there is "conservatism and secrecy in the work."
