China will allocate money for construction of short Almaty-Issyk-Kul road. The Kazakh media quoted the Deputy Chairman of KazAvtoZhol Board Ulan Alipov.
According to him, China has signed an agreement between KazAvtoZhol and the Chinese bank for allocation of preferential loans to Kazakhstan for the construction. "The project includes construction of a road from Almaty to Ust-Kamenogorsk, the road to Usharal, and road to Issyk-Kul. It will pass through Uzynagash and Karakastek village, a village on the border with Kyrgyzstan named Karasai Baatyr. We will build road up to these places, and Kyrgyzstan has already built its part," media quoted Alipov.
He stressed that it is planned to construct approximately 90 kilometers of new road and to reconstruct 45 km of the old road surface.
Recall, during the visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in August, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev informed about the decision to build Almaty - Issyk-Kul highway. Earlier on it was reported that the bilateral working group considered several variants of new route.
