Collective Security Treaty Organization blocked more than 57,000 of extremist websites for the year, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said today at a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
According to him, CSTO has successfully conducted an operation on detection and prevention of work of information resources focused on recruitment of citizens to "Islamic state" and other extremist organizations. As a result, more than 50,000 websites were blocked. Law enforcement agencies and courts investigate the cases on the rest of them.
"All these measures are implemented within cooperation in the fight against extremist and terrorist activities of the group under the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Council. But in general, there is a sharp increase in the number of operating extremist Internet resources in Central Asia," Nikolai Bordyuzha said.
