Russia's share in the total turnover of the Kyrgyz Republic for the first seven months of 2015 amounted to 27.7 percent, the Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov said on the fourth Russian-Kyrgyz inter-regional conference "Eurasian Economic Union. New prospects for interregional cooperation."
According to him, Russia is a strategic and major trade and economic partner of Kyrgyzstan. In January-July 2015, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to $878 million. Russia ranks first in terms of trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan with foreign countries. Also, the share of Russian investments in the Kyrgyz economy is significant. Only this year, the inflow of direct investments from Russia has reached $76 million.
"Recall, the construction of Uppernaryn HPP cascade and preparation for construction of Kambar-Ata HPP-1 with the financial support of Russia started for the development of the energy sector of Kyrgyzstan. Substantial support was rendered in Kyrgyzstan' s joining the Eurasian Economic Union: customs posts, checkpoints and laboratories were equipped, information exchange between tax authorities was established," Oleg Pankratov said.
