Defense and law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan have worked out cooperation in border security. It was announced today at summarizing of a joint special border operation (JSBO) Border Brotherhood-2015.
According to the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the operation was carried out in August to prevent illegal cross-border criminal activity on the external borders of CIS. The State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan headed the operation. In our country, the main efforts were focused on the Kyrgyz-Tajik and Kyrgyz-Kazakh border areas. Reconnaissance and search operations have been conducted, temporary border posts have been set up, border control at checkpoints has been strengthened. "Besides the ministries and departments, frontier commissioners and members of voluntary national teams have actively participated in the operation," SBS reported.
As it was noted, during the operation there were arrested 17 violators of the state border, 18 violators of regime, 13 violators of border regime, 5 illegal migrants, one involved in terrorist and extremist activity, 88 wanted individuals. There were confiscated 11 firearms, 981 ammunition items, about 7, 500 kilograms of drug substances, 5 cases of banned literature confiscation were recorded. Administrative penalty with the total amount of 119,200 soms was imposed, and 630 crimes were solved.
It is reported that 326, 278 people were passed through the border along with 155, 507 vehicles. At least 446 people were denied crossing the border, including 396 people with defective documents. There were revealed 44 citizens with banned departure from Kyrgyzstan. "The results of the operation are positive. The main goal has been reached," deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Zakir Tilenov stressed.
