CIS Defense Ministers endorse military cooperation concept until 2015

Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States has approved military cooperation concept until 2015, Russian mass media reported.

Meeting of CIS Defense Ministers was held in Dushanbe on November 10. It was the 57th session of Defense Ministers’ Council, attended by delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

The participants have endorsed the main directions of the Unified Air Defense System’s development until 2015. The ministers have also discussed celebration of 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In general, the delegates have considered over 20 issues on multilateral cooperation.

The next session of the council is scheduled for April 2010.
