Russia considers lifting of Kyrgyz meat import ban

Russia considers lifting of restrictions on import and transit of animal products from Kyrgyzstan imposed since 2006, the State Veterinary Department of Kyrgyzstan reported.

“Russian specialists inspected epizootic situation of the republic by mutual arrangement of Russian and Kyrgyz state veterinary services at the end of November,” the report said.

Russian veterinary inspectors have examined Chui, Naryn and Issyk-Kul regions, where they monitored cattle farms and processing enterprises of animal products.

The Kyrgyz State Veterinary Department looks for positive decision on the issue and lifting of ban on import of meat to Russia. “It will positively influence export of liable to check and veterinary service goods and economy of the country in general,” the Kyrgyz officials said.
