Kyrgyz migrant sentenced to 6 months in prison in Russia

Illegal Kyrgyz migrant was sentenced to six months in prison in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Russia), news agency SAKH.COM reported.

Ulanbek Momunov was detained by officers of the Sakhalin Federal Migration Service Department while trying to extend his work permit in 2009.

In 2004, Momunov was departed from Russia for violation of a migration law with exclusion until December 2008. A check-up has shown that the Kyrgyzstani illegally entered Russia in 2007, using uncontrolled part of Russia-Kazakhstan border in Altai krai.

Later on the man arrived in Sakhalin where he registered himself and obtained a work permit using forged documents.

A court of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk found the Kyrgyz guilty and sentenced him to six months in prison.
