The Coordinating Committee on Drugs starts working in Kyrgyzstan, the chief of drug prevention and drug agency Timur Isakov said today at a press conference in 24.kg news agency.
According to him, today the first meeting of the committee was held. He presented a program of public drug policy and plan of its implementation.
"Our law enforcement agencies are working at a good pace. At the same time the flow of narcotics and psychotropic substances and precursors increases. It's a big job that single agency can't perform. Therefore, the establishment of a coordinating committee will help to solve problems more effectively. We also appealed to the international community to help in the fight against drugs. We have become hostages of the situation when the flow of Afghan drugs goes through us," Timur Isakov said.
