Official launch of CASA-1000 project will take place in May 2016. The President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev announced today at the ceremony of presenting credentials by the Ambassadors.
"We are interested in further strengthening of the mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistan. According to CASA-1000 project, electricity from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will go to Pakistan and Afghanistan. The start of these specific projects is a big push in the intensification of bilateral relations," Almazbek Atambayev said.
"Our today's priority is establishment of open, friendly relations with all countries of the world. We will firmly fulfill international commitments, strongly defending our national interests. In 2016, our country is chairing two legendary organizations - the CIS and CHTC (the Council of Heads of Turkic-speaking Countries - note of 24.kg news agency). The year will be rich in events," the head of state added.
The ambassadors of Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Poland, Australia, the Philippines, Israel, Sweden, Algeria and Hungary have presented credentials to the President.
