Kyrgyzstan to welcome Santa Claus Festivals

State Agency on Tourism and Ministry of Culture and Information put forward an initiative of organizing Kyrgyzstan Is a Country of Santa Claus Festivals, the press service of the State Agency reported. Following the Festivals Kyrgyzstan is expected to be internationally recognized as a home country of Santa Claus.

As it was earlier reported Santa Claus should reside in Kyrgyzstan to fly over the world to give presents to all children in the world.

The Festivals will include Word Congress of Santa Clauses, climbing the Fergana Range and naming an unknown mountain as Santa Claus Peak. The Agency suggested holding a Christmas start of Santa Claus. The ceremony will be attended by political leaders, public figures, popular artists and UN Goodwill Ambassadors.

The agency is expected to organize competitions among Santa Clauses to slide up and down a chimney pipe, decorate Christmas tree and deliver gifts.

The State Agency urges Kyrgyzstanis to support the initiative of proclaiming the year 2008 as the Year of Santa Claus. "We want to show the world that Santa Claus is our compatriot respected as deeply as Ayaz Ata (Kyrgyz Santa)."
