The Central Asian Coordination Energy Council made a decision to switch off the electricity to some Central Asian residents during the peak-load time, press service of the public corporation Kyrgyz National Electricity Network reported.

The measure is needed for successful passing through the 2008-2009 fall-winter period and support of intended frequency and mains voltage. “These steps will reduce the high-voltage line (530 kB) breakdown risk. The high-voltage line reportedly connects the joint energy system of the region with the Single CIS energy network,” the corporation’s press service reported.
