Osh city mayor issues 2.5M soms to raise cops’ salary

Mayor of Osh has issued 2.5 million soms from the city budget for extra payments to the local police officers, a spokesperson for the city governor, Jumagul Masalieva, told 24.kg Thursday.

Melisbek Myrzakmatov reportedly issued 2 million 624 thousand soms to add to salaries of the Osh law enforcement agencies, while the municipality is taking charge over 167 officers.

The spokesperson also noted that the total of 18 million soms was allocated from the state budget to support local police.
