AH1N1 influenza: Nine new confirmed cases in Kyrgyzstan

Nine persons infected with the A/H1N1 virus have been identified in Kyrgyzstan, Tolon Isakov, director general of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Department under the Kyrgyz Health Care Ministry told the news agency 24.kg.

Seven passengers that were positive with the swine flu were taken off the Russian train bound for Bishkek on November 2. “In course of examination of other passengers, the influenza symptoms have been observed in two more Kyrgyzstanis. Thus, the number of the infected reached nine,” Isakov said.

All patients were taken to local hospitals for medical treatment. It is planned to have those infected discharged from the hospital in 3-4 days, the director said.

This is not the first AH1N1 incident in the republic, there were other four cases registered a month ago.
