Directors of some private orphanages sell their underage inmates into slavery in Kyrgyzstan, Irina Karamushkina, member of the parliament said Tuesday at the Bishkek-Osh video forum on children’s rights observance in private homes and orphanages.

Children’s rights monitoring in 2008-2009 has revealed a number of gross violations, allowed by directors of the institutions.

As to the deputy, some members of the ministers’ cabinet deliberately remove results of the checkup from the parliament sessions’ agenda. “There are some persons in the government who seem to be interested in hushing up the problem,” she added.
