Kyrgyz police has registered 678 juvenile crimes since beginning of 2009, chief of the juvenile crime control department of the Kyrgyz police, Murat Munduzbaev said Thursday at the forum on the 20th Anniversary of the Children’s Rights Convention Adoption in Bishkek.

In 2008 the local police registered 631 cases, with the 9-percent crime growth. “In 2009, 900 young offenders were brought to court, whereof 40 percent are middle-school students,” Munduzbaev said.

To improve crime detection rate the Kyrgyz police hired 68 more inspectors to deal with juvenile delinquency and organized advanced training courses.
