Kyrgyz scientists to unit in fight against religious extremism

Kyrgyz scientists stand for establishment of a scientific and ideological basis to fight against religious extremism, activists of the research center Religion, Law and Politics, lead by Kadyr Malikov said.

Kyrgyzstan is in need of theoretical knowledge about religious extremism control. “Ideological basis is going to be an effective mechanism, in view of outdated approaches of the early 1990s,” the activists said.

According to the scientists, Kyrgyz government has apparently understood that the most effective way to fight religious extremism is to raise people’s awareness, especially in the regions.
