Number of orphanage inmates increases by 33 percent in 2009

Number of orphanage inmates increased by 33 percent in 2009. The information was voiced at a round table discussion devoted to the development of private education sector in Kyrgyzstan.

The number of boarding school inmates reportedly grew by 14 percent, while the number of children at orphanages raised by 18 percent. Therewith, over 400 children are brought up at private children social institutions.

Up to 90 percent of children at the institutions are social orphans, number of which amounted to 100 thousand soms in 2009.
