“Participants of April events think they have done revolution in Kyrgyzstan but there is no its results,” an additional witness, participant of April events, Manasbek Akmatov, said at the court hearing today.

“There are no changes beginning with local government and ending with leadership of the country,” he added.

According him, military men “have right to shoot at those who went in the territory of “the White House”. “Law enforcement offices had to prevent from entry to the territory of guarded facility. And if they didn’t begin shooting at people who were outside “the White House” then tragedy wouldn’t happen. Military men shouldn’t shoot at people outside the territory, in response we formed groups and began shooting at them,” said Manasbek Akmatov.

“I saw how a shell from “the White House” was launched toward Ilbirs. Its splinters wounded and killed many protestors,” the witness added.

He noted that members of levee en masse shot snipers on video. “I told them to shoot snipers on a roof of Agroprom but when they approached the building protestors seized them and beat them up. They got in a hospital,” Manasbek Akmatov said and concluded that “April 7 events can be considered as a war”.

Recall, the court hearing on April 7 events, when the second president of the republic was toppled, is being held at the Department under Penitentiary System Security and Convoy under the State service of corrections under the Government. Total number of defendants is 28 including former high-ranking officials. They are charged with murder of two and more people, abuse of office and leaving the duty station. Besides, officers of Alfa and Arstan special units are charged with loss of weapon.
