Moral damage cost millions

As known, deputy of Parliament Irina Karamushkina filed a case and demand from 24.kg news agency Makhinur Niyazova 5M soms for moral damage.

Why deputy from SDPK (Social and Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan) party Irina Karamushkina evaluate her suffering in 5M soms? Usually popular politicians demand symbolic sum (1 som, for example). They feel themselves insulted and just demand for public rehabilitation, not money compensation.”

She said that these 5M soms will be spent for… charity. In case if she wins in court. But by such expressions she is damaging the party reputation.

Chinara Okeeva, the deputy representative in court, said on first court session that her chief is suffering terribly. “She faced with great stress and even turned to hospital for professional help,” explained Chinara Okeeva. She is suffering for a car accident committed by he driver Alexei Khurasev.

24.kg news agency publication have worsened her mental condition.

A medical certificate presented in court by Irina Karamushkina says that she has heart problems caused by stress condition. The certificate was written on March 1-2, 2012.

More specifically, she is suffering from osteochondrosis and hypertension. But why osteochondrosis became a source of moral suffering from news articles? Personally, I don’t know. I am not a doctor. However these “traumas” didn’t become an obstacle for her trips to China and Georgia.

140K soms for funerals

Such sum was given to the family of 70-years old Asangazy Kutmanaliev who died in the car accident by the mother of Alexei Khurasev. It was made not by the deputy but the defendant’s mother. According the family advocate she promised to send 130K soms.

300K soms were given to the second victim Almaz Matiev. Then he refused from any material and mental claims.

Alexei Khurasev’s mother promised pay 130K soms additionally “if the family of killed old-man writes a cross-application”.

Does this mean that the defendants are bargaining with the victims? Maybe the Khurasevs consider that human life has a fixed price? However, such questions are not something extraordinary. For example, Irina Karamushkina only regretted that she “have to repair the broken car which killed a man”. The deputy doesn’t deny the information.

…By expressing condolences to the family of Asangazy Kutmanaliev she stressed that won’t make any obstacles to official investigation. And after several days Alexei Khurasev (who was drunk and drove a car which killed a man, he ran away from crime scene) was released under written undertaking not to leave the place. It was made deputy Irina Karamushkina request!

Irina Karamushkina showed that “she is in shock” from her driver’s crime. She said it to reporters. Phone calls printing presented during the court session showed the other truth.

According an official investigation, the car accident occurred on February 26, 2012 at 7:30 pm. The phone calls printings indicate that Alexei Khurasev called to Irina Karamushkina at 7:49 pm. (19 minutes after the accident). They were talking for 10 (!) minutes. Was he describing how he hit two men and one of them flew 50 meters and died?

After the conversation with her driver the deputy dialed number 0(554)777-313 and talked for 5 minutes. After some break she dialed the number again and talked 10 minutes more. The call repeated several times more (probably, she asked some advice or help). She called her driver again at 9:24 pm. and talked with him for 3 minutes. Then she called him several times later.

Thus, her “shock” doesn’t collocate with her phone calls.

What Irina wants?

Irina Karamushkina wants 5M soms and public apologies. Her gentle nature was wounded by a sentence from news article written by Makhinur Niyazova that the deputy was in the car during the accident. This sentence was normal: without insults and sarcasm. When the deputy was meeting with her electorate they asked her about this car accident a lot. And that was the most disturbing. I’m sure that the rest 119 deputies are also facing with uncomfortable questions. Rhetoric questions about future of the country after the April revolution of 2010 should concern her and other SDPK members.

“I wouldn’t raise a hand to write a libel against any news agency in Kyrgyzstan if my driver really killed a man,” said Irina Karamushkina colleague – a chief of Regulation and Ethics Committee Kurmantay Abdiev.

According him, every citizen has the right to defend his honor and dignity in court. But deputy of Parliament Irina Karamushkina did unethical step. “I can’t say exactly whether she did right or wrong thing. But it is her driver killed a man,” he said.

It is very hard to argue with Kurmantay Abdiev.
