Ministry of Interior reveals 94 facts of extremism for 4 month of 2012 in Kyrgyzstan

94 facts of extremism were revealed for 4 month of 2012; 50 criminal cases were filed. This was reported by the Ministry of Interior.

According to the Ministry, 75 facts were recorded in 2011.

It is reported that they seized over 4,000 extremist materials – leaflets, books, magazines, newspapers, booklets, audio and video cassettes, electronic media, CDs, computer equipment and manuscripts.

As noted, they seize firearms from members of extremist organizations of late. On April 26, police of Kyzyl-Kiya city detained a citizen M. F., member of Hizb-ut-Tahrir party for illegal keeping of firearm and ammunition.

They in the Interior Ministry think that punitive measures are not enough to fight against extremism. The Ministry plans to hold round table conferences “Extremism – threat to the society” involving representatives of the public administrations and local government as well as NGOs.
