Tilek Isaev: Authorities don’t respond on self-immolation acts in Kyrgyzstan

“In Kyrgyzstan, authorities don’t respond on citizens’ acts of self-immolation,” the leader of Azat El Party, Tilek Isaev, told a news conference today when commenting on intentions of several tens of women – loan debtors of microcredit organizations in Jalal-Abad – to make a bonfire of themselves in order to turn authorities’ attention to the problem.

According him, 80 percent of the population is in debts as of today. “Majority of these people took loans in banks and microcredit companies. Among them are many people affected by two upheavals. However, they are thrown upon his own resources and the state doesn’t provide them with any help,” said Tilek Isaev.

“We are asking people not to go to extremes as authorities don’t respond in due way,” he resumed.
