Children’s poet, Manas epos translator celebrates 70th birthday

Tursunbai Adashbaev, children’s poet and one of Manas epos translators into the Uzbek language celebrated his 70th birthday. The anniversary celebration took place in the Osh Academic Music and Drama Theatre of Z.M. Babur, the New literature of Kyrgyzstan website reports.

The poet was born and raised in the village of Safed-Bulan, Suzak district, Jalalabad region. He attended High literature courses under Gorky Institute. Adashbaev has translated a lot of works of the Kyrgyz writers such as Alykul Osmonov, Jolon Mamytov, Tologon Kasymbekov, Sooronbai Jusuev. The honored culture activist, honored teacher of Uzbekistan lives and works in Tashkent.

The celebration was organized at the initiative of the Uzbek regional culture center with assistance of Uzbek Humanitarian University in Osh.
