Ruble may rise in price due to the partial privatization of Rosneft, the chief economist of the Eurasian Development Bank Yaroslav Lisovolik expressed his opinion to journalists.
Earlier it was reported that Swiss consortium Glencore and Qatar sovereign fund will buy 19.5 percent stake in Rosneft company for €10.5 billion.
Yaroslav Lisovolik notes that thanks to a deal the strengthening of the ruble is possible. However, it won't be too dramatic. The economist believes that the dollar will remain in the range of 63-65 rubles till the end of 2016. And in this period, it is unlikely to overcome the bar of 70 rubles and above.
Note, Rosneft owns the second largest network of gas stations in Kyrgyzstan. It acquired them at BNK company for $30 million. In Kyrgyzstan, people still talk about the fact that the deal is not beneficial to the state.
