Measures for the development of civil aviation are being taken despite the problems with finances, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Transport and Roads reported.
Yesterday at the government meeting it was reported that only 6 out of 61 planned program of development activities have been implemented. The Ministry of Transport noted that only one out of five planned events for 2016 was held. Others are being worked on.
The program for the development of civil aviation has eight priority areas. Among them are:
- improving the safety of domestic air carriers;
- improvement of public administration systems, staffing and air traffic services;
- creation of a modern maintenance center;
- the development of airport infrastructure, ultralight and light aircraft in Kyrgyzstan;
- the expansion of flight geography.
The program is designed for five years. The majority of events (30) are scheduled for 2016-2020. In addition, 14 more will be implemented on an ongoing basis.
"Today there are planned 56 events for 2016-2020 years. 15 of them are fully implemented, and the work on 17 continues, 17- in the process of implementation. Another eight events will be implemented in the following years," the Ministry of Transport commented.
The Ministry reported that four measures are not implemented due to lack of money. They planned to spend money on the provision of additional human and financial resources, improvement of the logistics of inspection and personnel, as well as an increase in staff numbers and salaries of inspectors of Civil Aviation Agency.
The Ministry of Transport noted that there are already first results of the work. The number of flights increased by 31 percent for five years and number of passengers exceeded 3 million.
