The EEU Heads of Government approved the Single Customs Code, the Eurasian Economic Commission reported.
Yesterday Gorki (Moscow region, Russia) hosted a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The main issue was the discussion of the final version of the Customs Code.
Work on the new version of the Customs Code was conducted for almost five years. The document has many innovations. First of all, it is about the priority of the application of electronic technologies - electronic declaration and clearance of goods.
The document was sent to the internal approval after a meeting of Prime Ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union in Sochi (Russia) in August.
After the approval of the Code by the heads of government, it was sent for signing by EEU heads of states. This is expected to happen at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in December.
