Border troops exchanged warning shots on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The Public Relations and Media Department of the State Border Service reported.
Warning shots in the air were recorded on the outskirts of Min-Oruk village of Samarkandyk rural administration, Batken region.
The Tajik border patrol unit, being on disputed part of Kyrgyz-Tajik border, fired three warning shots into the air without any reason. In response to the actions of the Tajik border unit, the Kyrgyz side also fired a warning shot into the air. No one was injured.
As noted, a meeting of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held immediately. As a result, it was decided to investigate the incident.
Kyrgyz border units will continue to protect undemarcated part of the border along the previous route not reaching the conventional line. The route for the border guards of Tajikistan will be limited. They are not allowed to stand on a bridge over the canal that passes near the conventional boundary line. They should not approach the notional boundary line at a distance of 100 meters.
Till December 10, the sides will hold classes on the rules of conduct on the state border for the military.
At present, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border is stable.
