Murder rate increases by 10.9 percent in Kyrgyzstan in 2009

Murder rate increased by 10.9 percent in Kyrgyzstan in 2009, National Statistics Committee said.

In 2008 the index made up 5.5 persons per 100 thousand people, compared to 6.1 in 2009.

Therefore, increase in mortality rate was traced all over the country, excluding Talas, Naryn and Issyk-Kul regions. Moreover, Chui region’s violent death index remains the highest in the republic and exceeds an average republican rate 2.3 times.
