Kyrgyz government delegation is satisfied with the negotiations with Tajik colleagues on border issues. The Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Abdyrakhman Mamataliev informed 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the talks, held on May 12-13 in the Batken province, were successful. "We found mutual understanding on many issues. We signed several protocols on forcing the demarcation and delimitation of the borders with Tajikistan, on investigation of the incident on May 7 and bringing the perpetrators to responsibility. In addition, the Tajik side has agreed to pay damages caused to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic within the recent conflict on the border," Abdyrakhman Mamataliev added.
He noted that the construction of Kok-Tash-Ak-Sai-Tandyk-Kishemish road will continue. "Let me remind you that one of the reasons for recent conflicts - the construction of this road. Following the negotiations, the protocol was signed. Rehabilitation of the route will allow free passage for our citizens, and the citizens of the neighboring country," Abdyrakhman Mamataliev summed up.
Recall, there was another skirmish on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, on May 7, where around 30 people were injured, nine of them were hospitalized. According to media of Tajikistan, about 60 people suffered.
