Kazakhstan shall remove phytosanitary posts on the border with Kyrgyzstan until October 26, the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety reported to 24.kg news agency.
It is noted that in September the Eurasian Economic Commission has adopted two decisions on free movement of goods. Both solutions concerned the situation on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.
In the first decision, the EEC obliges Kyrgyzstan to cancel coupon on the passage of goods through the state border. By the second decision, Kazakhstan was ordered to remove the phytosanitary control at the border.
"Kyrgyzstan removed the phytosanitary posts immediately after the opening of the customs border in 2015. But Kazakhstan never did it. EEC decision on the abolition of mandatory phytosanitary control by Kazakhstan shall enter into force on October 26. Until that time, Kazakhstan should remove the posts," the department commented on the situation.
