Aksakal courts have considered over 10,000 cases and imposed fines in the amount of 228,000 soms in 2015. Deputy Director of the State Agency for Local Government and Inter-Ethnic Relations Mikhail Khalitov told today at a meeting of the Parliament.
He added that there have been levied a little less – 221,000 soms. All of these means are transferred to the budget of local governments. Elders themselves, as it turned out, do not get money for their work. "I wish we had more such elders and young people who would work pro bono!" the deputy Kozhobek Ryspaev said.
By the way, in 2014, the courts of elders have considered 7,500 cases. As the head of the agency reported, there are 800 such courts all over the republic and 4,380 people are working there.
