At least 1,243 anthrax outbreaks are revealed in Kyrgyzstan. The deputy director of the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Security Ashirbai Zhusupov informed today at a meeting of the government.
The Health Minister Dinara Saginbaeva noted that the agency spends insufficient efforts to prevent diseases. "You did not answer what work is being done on anthrax. Last year 16 cases have been recorded," she said.
Ashirbai Zhusupov explained that 1, 243 outbreaks of anthrax are revealed. "According to official data, the information about 16 cases, mentioned by the Minister of Health, isn't confirmed. We analyzed the soil and only two cases were confirmed. This year we purchased 1.8 million vaccines against anthrax," he added.
