Head of National TV and Radio Corporation resigns

Melis Eshimkanov, Head of the National TV and Radio Corporation (NTRC) resigned. His assistant Orozbai kyzy Kaiyrgul, known among journalists as Katya Urumkanova, will expectedly take the vacant position.

According to preliminary information, Eshimkanov, who headed the NTRC since autumn 2007, will take one of the supervisory positions at the President’s Institute departments.

Katya Urumkanova has been working as NTRC Assistant Director General since February 2009 when she was appointed by the Kyrgyz president. Before, she served as an editor-in-chief of the Channel 5.
