Erlan Alimbaev was elected Deputy Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan. This decision was made by MPs today.
His candidacy was put forward by recently elected Ombudsman Kubat Otorbaev. The Parliamentary Committee for Constitutional Law, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues and Regulations supported the candidate.
According to deputies, Erlan Alimbaev meets legal requirements on age, citizenship and has no criminal record. The CV of the candidate states that since 2014 he works as a consultant of the deputy of Onuguu-Progress faction Altynbek Zhunus uulu.
"I plan to develop the Institute of Ombudsman, strengthen its reputation, to enhance work in protection of human rights. It is also necessary to pay attention to the quality and execution of acts of the Institute," Erlan Alimbaev said.
His candidacy was supported by 96 deputies.
