"Hippodrome in Karakol can not belong to a private person any more, it has to be the property of the state," the head of Kyrgyzstan parliamentary faction Kanatbek Isaev told journalists.
According to him, return of the hippodrome to the balance of the country has been already raised as far back as in 2011, and the handover procedure took place only two years ago. "The total area of the racecourse is 44 hectares. In 2009, a businessman bought it for ridiculous money - 1,005,000 soms. The elite horses only cost twice as much. He was going to demolish it and build a hotel complex there. But the hippodrome should work in its previous form," Kanatbek Isaev said.
He added that the government has to invest in development of hippodrome's infrastructure.
