Extraordinary meeting of Permanent Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will take place in Moscow today at the initiative of Kyrgyzstan.
"During the meeting, the Resident and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the CSTO Permanent Council A. Mambetseitov will officially inform permanent representatives of the states- members of the organization about the situation on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border in Aksy district of Jalal-Abad region of the Kyrgyz Republic," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
On March 18, border troops of Uzbekistan placed two armored personnel carriers and Kamaz trucks on undescribed part of Kyrgyz-Uzbek border in Mogul area, Ala-Buka district of Jalal-Abad region. The Uzbek side unilaterally completely closed Madanyat-Avtodorozhniy checkpoint. In response, Kyrgyz border guards pulled in their troops to Chalasart area. At the time, the Kyrgyz and Uzbek sides have reduced the number of military personnel in the disputed border area.
