CEC proves Bakiev’s re-election

The Central Election Commission has proved Kurmanbek Bakiev’s re-election Monday, as official results of voting were announced.

The final election results put the incumbent president Kurmanbek Bakiev on top with 76.43 percent of votes – about 1,799,417 people. “He is followed by Almazbek Atambaev - 8.39 percent, Temir Sariev - 6.43 percent, Toktaiym Umetalieva - 1.08 percent, Nurlan Motuev - 0.93 percent and Jenishbek Nazaraliev - 0.82 percent. At least 4.62 percent of voters casted their votes against all the candidates,” the CEC said.

According to the Articles 5, 10, 65 and 68 of the Kyrgyz Election Code the presidential election was complete.
