Long-awaited rehabilitation of the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart road will start in 2010, state secretary of the Transport and Communication Ministry, Kubanychbek Mamaev, said in Parliament Tuesday.

Length of the road reportedly reaches 530 kilometers. “In 2010 the scheduled repair of 382 kilometers of the road will require $270 million to be obtained as loans and grants. Asian Development Bank and the Chinese Bank have promised Kyrgyzstan concessional loans for the project’s elaboration. The full rehabilitation of the road is expected to be mastered by 2014,” the official said.
