China to allocate 50M yuan for construction of language school in Bishkek

China allocates 50 million yuan (over 300 million soms) for construction of the Chinese language school in Bishkek, Abdylda Musaev, Education and Science Minister of Kyrgyzstan said Tuesday at a session of the Education, Science, Culture and Sports Committee.

Construction of the new school will be started as soon as possible if the government endorses the draft bill. “The Chinese side pays for expert appraisal which will cost 500 thousand yuan,” Musaev said.

“The educational institution with advanced study of Chinese for 700 students will meet all international standards,” the minister added.

“There will be no problems with teaching staff and books as Kyrgyzstan has enough specialists who are able to teach the Chinese language,” he said.

As to Galina Kulikova, member of the Parliament, the country needs elite school for gifted children. “There are over 17 Kyrgyz-Turkish lyceums in Kyrgyzstan. And their work can serve as a perfect model,” Kulikova added.

The committee approved the bill and submitted it to the Parliament for consideration.

A 2.24 ha land area has already been allocated for projecting and construction of the school in the country.
