Constitutional Court’s judgments execution needs improvement, lawmakers say

Kyrgyz lawmakers believe execution of the Constitutional Court’s judgments requires improvement. The statement was voiced Wednesday at a session of the Social Democrats parliament group.

As to its members, government authorities do not hasten to execute decisions of the Constitutional Court and frequently make unconstitutional decisions. Therewith, all decisions of the court are considered to be final, acting legislation says.

In experts’ opinion, the legislation needs additional mechanisms strictly obliging state bodies to execute decisions of the court. Therewith, such norms have been already included in the legal base, Svetlana Sydykova, Chief of the Constitutional Court said. For example, the government should initiate amendments to any law if it is contradicts to the Constitution.
